Every factory claims "strict quality control." Very few can list what it actually means. In lingerie — where fabric is delicate, hardware is small, and sizing is unforgiving — QC is the difference between a reorder and a refund. Here is the 10-point inspection that every order from our Taizhou factory passes, and the checklist you should ask any supplier for.

The 10 checks, explained

  1. Fabric inspection on arrival: every fabric roll is checked for defects, shading and weight before it enters production. Off-spec fabric is rejected at the door, not after sewing.
  2. Cutting accuracy: cut pieces are checked against the pattern for correct size and shape — mis-cut panels cause fit problems no sewing can fix.
  3. Stitching tension: seams are inspected for even tension, skipped stitches and loose threads. In shapewear, seam quality decides whether the garment holds or bags.
  4. Size measurement: finished garments are measured against the spec sheet (bust, waist, hip, length) per size. Tolerances are typically ±1 cm on structured pieces.
  5. Hardware function: zips, hooks, buckles, lacing rings and boning channels are tested — open, close, pull, repeat. A failing zip is the #1 return reason in corsets and jumpsuits.
  6. Lace and trim alignment: lace patterns, bows and trims must sit straight and attach securely. Loose trims are the most common "looks cheap" complaint.
  7. Color consistency: pieces are compared against the approved color standard across batches and sizes — shade variation between pieces in one order is a classic QC failure.
  8. Packing and labeling: correct size tags, brand labels, care labels and poly bags, matched to the packing list. Wrong labels cause returns at customs and retail.
  9. Final visual inspection: every piece gets an eyes-on check for flaws, loose threads, stains and finish before packing.
  10. Pre-shipment inspection report: for export orders, we produce an inspection report you can review before goods leave — or you can hire a third-party inspector to audit us. We welcome it.

Questions to ask your factory

  • "Can you list the QC checks your orders pass?" — If they can't, they don't have any.
  • "What are your size tolerances?" — Vague answers mean no measurement system.
  • "Can a third-party inspector audit my order?" — A real factory says yes.
  • "What happens to defective pieces?" — You want to hear: they're pulled, replaced and re-inspected, at the factory's cost.

How QC affects your business

Each check exists because someone, somewhere, paid for its absence: returns, refunds, bad reviews and chargebacks all trace back to a QC gap. When you buy from a factory with a real inspection system, your return rate drops and your brand reputation compounds. That's why we publish the process instead of just claiming it — and why we recommend you ask any new supplier for their list before ordering. Frequently asked questions

Do you allow third-party inspections?

Yes — we welcome third-party pre-shipment inspections on any order, and we also provide our own inspection report for every export order.

What happens if pieces fail inspection?

Defective pieces are pulled, replaced and the batch is re-inspected before shipping — at our cost. You only pay for goods that pass.

How tight are your size tolerances?

±1 cm on structured pieces (corsets, shapewear), with full garment measurements on every size. Custom grading is available.

Can I see QC photos of my order?

Yes — packing photos and inspection photos are shared with you before goods leave the factory.
